Life has a way of testing us when we least expect it. Over the past months, I have faced a series of challenges that have reprioritized my world. The loss of my father, a tough battle with a persistent infection, and additional responsibilities of caring for my family,
I have found unexpected strength through art. This post is a reflection on that journey, an update on my upcoming art shows, and a look ahead to my goals for 2026.

Facing Loss and Finding Strength
I was so glad to be able to spend time with him in his final months. Edgar was not just a parent but my first art collector and my biggest fan! Thank you Dad for being there for me!
During this time, I faced a serious infection. It was frustrating to be weak when my family needed me. I should have learned to listen to my body and accept more help. The hardest part was not being able to attend dad's funeral.
Balancing my own recovery and grief with the needs of my family was a sanctuary. I found tremendous joy spending time in Denver with my grandkids, conveniently located near my doctors! During that time we settled into a new family routine including a new art studio at my daughter's house and various shenanigans with my grandkids! I think some people thought I was nuts, but this responsibility provided tremendous energy and motivation to create art in my little satellite studio!
Moving Forward
Art has always been my refuge especialy when I was too weak hike or too tired for yoga. I could always pull up a chair to an easel and paint! I do have several new pieces, worked on a couple of commissions, and have some art shows this summer. But I've also had to say "no" to a bunch of opportunities this year. Oh well!
Some of my new works turned out either remarkably complex or remarkably simple. Not by plan, but as a reflection of these last months.
Upcoming Art Shows
I am excited to share that I have two local art shows lined up for the coming months. These exhibitions will showcase the new direction my work has taken and the stories behind it.
With Much Gratitude,
