Vail Bluebird Day in China Bowl

When I first moved to Vail in 1982 “China Bowl” was a backcountry area reserved for patrollers and elite skiers.  Then it opened as an inbounds area and gave us chairlift access to the West Wall - beautiful open bowl steep skiing.  
I tried to capture the allure of the West Wall from the safe perch at the top of East Poppy Fields.  Didn’t have the heart to add chairlifts.
